Frédéric Nihous

Regional Councillor for the Hauts-de-France, Delegate for Energy Renovation, since December 2015, he has been following in particular the energy and transition issues, the renovation of the mining basin, he is professionally acting as Councillor to the Deputy Vice-President for Rurality and the Environment of the Nord department.

Graduated in public law (Master of Law and then postgraduate degree in International Economic Law and National Defence and European Security), he has carried out numerous cabinet, management and executive missions for many years in various communities, institutions and public structures (Water Agency, Urban Community of Lille, Douai City Hall, Arleux, Asson). Consultant with experience in public institutions and local authorities, particularly in rural areas (in Nord-Pas de Calais and Aquitaine, in the Pyrénées Atlantiques), both in administrative and/or communication services and in private practice (parliamentary or municipal) as well as in a parliamentary group in the European Parliament on operational specialities (project management, communication, strategic direction and team leadership, public relations, spatial planning, rural policies), he has also held various missions in ministerial expertise (rural development, agriculture, hunting) and as parliamentary assistant both to the French National Assembly and to the European Parliament.

He was previously elected in southwestern France as Deputy Mayor of a Pyrenean village from 2008 to 2015 and Regional Councillor for Aquitaine from 2010 to 2015 after running in the French presidential election in 2007.
