Iain Haggis is 57 years old and a dual UK and Polish citizen, who has been living in Poland since 1995. He qualified as a chartered management accountant (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), while working for Reuters in Austria and Switzerland in the 1980’s. After four years working in Germany, he moved to Poland to take up the position of CFO in one of the fund managers in the Polish Mass Privatisation Program. Subsequently he has held senior finance roles in Poland in a Dutch-owned leasing company, a radio station and Polish Telecom (Orange), where part of his job involved managing the real estate restructuring program. He was at Innova Capital from 2007 to 2014 where he was responsible among others for fund reporting, the portfolio controlling function and ESG reporting. Since 2016, he has been fulfilling a similar function for a start-up fund investing in Czech and Slovak businesses. He is also a director of Valores Foundation, the first venture philanthropy fund in Poland.
