Lucia Seel is General Manager/Owner of Lucia Seel International Consulting GmbH. She is currently (until 01/2020) the Communication and Content Manager of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform set up by the European Commission in 2016. Based on her vast experience of over 25 years in international affairs, projects, communication and European programmes and following 6 years of coordination of European programmes at Clusterland Upper Austria GmbH (where she played an active role in several flagship European projects like the European Cluster Excellence Initiative, The European Cluster Observatory, TACTICS), Lucia set up in 2011 her own company focusing on development and management of EU projects, support for international cooperation in the field of innovation and clustering, training and international networking and communication.
Lucia was between 2012-2013 member of the high-level expert group “European Forum for Clusters in Emerging Industries” set up by the European Commission, DG Enterprise & Industry. Between 2016-2017 she was Community Manager of the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platforms (Research & Innovation and SME competitiveness). She is well-known speaker and moderator at international conferences and workshops, with a large record of presentations and moderations. She is also evaluator in the COSME programme, a certified Cluster Benchmarking Expert and Gold Label Assessor for the European Secretariat of Cluster Analysis.
Lucia graduated magna cum laude from the Academy of Economic Sciences in Bucharest. She worked both for multinational companies such as Saatchi & Saatchi Centrade in Bucharest and Silhouette International in Linz/AT (as area manager for South-East Asia and South Europe), and for small companies in Austria and public administration bodies in Austria and Romania.
As an active international person, Lucia was one of the founders and the first president of AIESEC in Romania. In 2012 she founded the ClusterWene initiative – the ClusterWomenEuropeanNEtwork, while being member for 17 years of the EWMD (European Women Management Development Network). In addition she is member of several large networks like TCI – The Competitiveness Institute Global Network.
Lucia is Austrian, but Romanian born and speaks 6 languages.
